Selective process

The Selective Process for admission to the Master’s and/or Doctoral Program in the Graduate Program in Morphofunctional Sciences occurs regularly, according to the table below:

Criteria

The Selective Process consists of the following parts:

  1. Analysis of the candidate’s curriculum vitae, placing highest value on the following items:
  • Master’s Candidates:
  • a) Submission or publication of a paper indexed in the ISI Web of Science; (1 point)
  • b) Presentation of a paper at national or international congresses; (1 point)
  • c) Performance during undergraduate program (1 point, for candidates with no failing grades); 
  • Doctorate Candidates:
  • a) Publication in a journal indexed in the ISI Web of Science; (1 point)
  • b) Presentation of a paper at national or international congresses; (1 point)
  • c) Performance during master’s program (1 point, for candidates with no failing grade in courses);
  • Candidates for Direct Doctorate: 
  • a) Presentation of a paper at international congresses; (1 point)
  • b) Performance during undergraduate program (1 point, for candidates with no failing grades);  
  1. Detailed oral presentation of the Research Project, to be performed within a minimum time of 10 minutes and maximum time of 30 minutes, with subsequent questioning about the study model and methodologies used for the development of the project (maximum limit of 07 points). The final score will be calculated through the summation of the scores for the analysis of the candidate’s CV and detailed oral presentation of the research project.
  • Cut-off Score: Master’s = 5 points, Doctorate = 7 points, Direct Doctorate = 7 points. All tests are public

Registration for the Selection Process

At the time of registration, the following documents must be submitted:

Candidates for Master’s degree, Doctorate and Doctorate with Master’s Degree in another Program

  1. a) Candidate’s application, submitted to the Program Coordinator, requesting registration (model available at: www.cienciasmorfofuncionais.com.br);
  2. b) Registration form (model available at www.cienciasmorfofuncionais.com.br);
  3. c) 03 copies of the Research Project to be developed during the course (as a suggestion, use the FAPESP model, with a maximum of 20 pages);
  4. d) Legible copy of:

– Undergraduate Diploma, with the graduation date;

– Undergraduate transcripts, including graduation date;

– Identification document

  1. 03 copies of the Curriculum Vitae in the Lattes system, updated and documented, with copies of the proofs, for verification. Completion of a previous internship in the project insertion area will be valued.
  2.  Publication:

For Doctorate candidates with a Master’s Degree in another Program, delivery of academic paper(s) published or submitted up to 03 (three) months prior to the registration date, related to the Master’s Thesis / previous research, in a journal with an Impact Factor equal to or greater than the median for the area (Biological Sciences 1), according to the criteria of CAPES (Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior) [agency of Brazil’s Ministry of Education whose central purpose is to coordinate efforts to improve the quality of faculty and staff in post-secondary education through grants] (as available on the website: www.capes.gov.br).

For Direct Doctorate candidates, proof of having at least one publication in a journal indexed in the ISI Web of Science.

  1. Copy of the Master’s Program Transcripts; (For Doctoral candidates with a Master’s Degree in another Program);
  2. Certificate of completion of Master’s Program; (For Doctorate candidates with a Master’s Degree in another Program)
  •   Doctorate Candidates with Master’s Degree in the same Program
  • 03 copies of the Research Project to be developed during the program (as a suggestion, use the FAPESP model, with a maximum of 20 pages);
  • 03 copies of the Curriculum Vitae in the Lattes system, updated and documented, with copies of the proofs, for verification. Completion of a previous internship in the project insertion area will be valued.

NOTE: At the time of enrollment, the candidate must submit proof that the Research Project has been sent to the Ethics Committee on Animal Experimentation of the Institute of Biomedical Sciences (CEUA-ICB/USP, where such project includes manipulation of animals) or to the Research Ethics Committee Involving Human Beings (CEPSH-ICB/USP, when such project includes manipulation of human material) attesting to the submission thereof.
